REMOTE POWER ON SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To exclude power on due to an erroneous connection, by reducing equipment held in readiness for operation in an incoming waiting state as much as possible, performing the power on operation in two stages, and confirming a call and the power on operation by a message. CONSTITUTION:When a remote terminal calls an information processing system 5, an incoming signal is sent through a connection line 6. An incoming call detecting circuit 1 detects variation in logical level on an interface line for an incoming signal to send out a power on signal to a power source 2 through a connection line 7. In response to the power on signal sent from the incoming call detecting circuit 1 through the connection line 7, the power source 2 is turned on to supply a current to a communication controller 4 through a connection line 8. The remote terminal sends out a message for power on the information processing system 5. This message is received by the communication controller 4, which performs normal character composition, message composition, and error detection and correction and then interprets and processes the message, thereby turning on the power source.
