PRINTER HAVING INFORMATION CONVERTING FUNCTION

PURPOSE:To realize the mutual communication between a facsimile device and another type of device, by converting the resolution of the facsimile receiving signal into that of the signal of another type of device. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic control circuit part 5 is provided at the end a recording control part. The input fed from a facsimile device has the resolving power of vertical/horizontal 8pcs/mm. (hereafter called 8 dots) and divided into 8X8 blocks to be controlled at the part 5. For the number of dots within a divided block, the black dots at the terminal near the 8th dot are eliminated in case 5 black dots exist among 8 dots. While the white dots near the 8th dot are eliminated in the case of 4 dots. In case the 8th dot is black with 4 black dots, the white dot before the black dot near the 8th dot is deleted. If the 8 dots are all white, the 8th dot is deleted. The block groups from which the dots of each row and column are synthesized again. Then the 8X8 dot resolving power is converted into the 7X7 dot resolving power of a matrix type dot printer.
