FILTER-TYPE DESALINATOR FOR SEA WATER

PURPOSE:To turn sea water into fresh water at a low cost with a simplified apparatus, by treating D.C.-electrolyzed well brine in a sand filter bed, the first- stage filter, the second-stage filter and then in an active carbon filtering bed. CONSTITUTION:Boring 2 is performed near the sea 1, and brine is sucked up by a pump and let flow into an electrolyzing cell 3 where the plus and minus electrodes of a D.C. power source 4 are submerged to electrolyze the sea water. Thereafter, the electrolyzed sea water is transferred to a sand filter bed 5, filtered therein, reserved in a pump pit 6, pumped up and then filtered in JE-type first-stage filter 7 and JE-type second-stage filter 8. The water is further let flow through JE-type third-stage filter (an active carbon filter) 9 and pasteurized in a pasteurizing cell 10 to obtain fresh water 11.
