COOLING METHOD FOR BODY OF BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE:To increase the cooling capacity of stave edge by causing the tubes at both sides among the cooling tubes of plural rows equiped in a stave body to have larger diameters and more amount of flowing water therethrough than those of other tubes. CONSTITUTION:The cooling tubes 13a, 13d, 13'a and 13'd of both sides among the cooling tubes 13a-13d and 13'a-13'd molded into a stave body 1 are caused to have larger diameters than those of other cooling tubes. The cooling water sent to the cooling tubes 13a, 13d of both sides is pressurized by pressure-pump 10. Then, the cooling water circulates through a lower header 11, the cooling tubes 13a, 13d, an upper header 12 and a tank 4. Another cooling water circulates through a lower header 8, the cooling tubes 13b, 13c, an upper header 9 and the tank 4. Unfirom cooling for the stave edge is obtd. by said two tube- arrangement. Accordingly, the packing material between the staves is not stripped off or dropped, and the blast furnace is stably operated.
