Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:A fraction of temperate phage DNA of Staphylococcus aureus is introduced through a vector into Escherichia coli and the resultant Escherichia coli is cultured to produce staphylokinase. CONSTITUTION:The temperate phage of Staphylococcus aureus, SphiC DNA, is incised with a restriction enzyme such as Hind III or Ava II and AccI to obtain a DNA fraction carrying the genetic information of producing staphylokinase. Then, the fraction is introduced through a vector into Escherichia coli to give a novel Escherichia coli containing genes that can produce staphylokinase. The bacterium is cultured by a usual method and staphylokinase is collected mainly from the cultured cell bodies.
