Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To roll a raw slab to a slab having a desired thickness and to improve the precision of the length of the slab, by determining the slab length on a basis of dimensions of the raw slab and the draft or the quantity of rolling reduction and determining the slab thickness on a basis of the slab length. CONSTITUTION:Plural kinds of length are preliminarily set as the length of a slab after adjusting and rolling. One kind of slab length is selected from set slab lengths in accordance with dimensions of the raw slab and the draft or the quantity of rolling reduction required for adjusting properties of the surface of the slab and is set as a desired slab length after adjusting and rolling. A slab thickness corresponding to the desired slab length is determined as a desired slab thickness after adjusting and rolling. The raw slab is widened up to the determined desired slab thickness by rolling.
