Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To permit the sure adjustment of lubricating width and the adjustment of the thickness of oil films by using a solid lubricant to be coated on the parts of work rolls where the end parts of rolled materials pass, and extruding the lubricant in a softened state then cooling the same and coating the lubricant in the solidified state of prescribed sizes. CONSTITUTION:A solid lubricant is put into a softening device 1 and hot water is fluidized in a jacket 3 to soften the lubricant to a viscous state. Thereafter a screw nut 12 is rotated by a motor 7 to drive a screw 6 and to force a piston 5 downward, thereby discharging the entire volume of the lubricant and feeding the same through a selector valve 13 to an extruder 2. If the valve 13 is changed over and the lubricant is extruded with a piston 8 by operating the extruder 2 in the same manner as for the device 1, the lubricant passes through a flexible hose 18 heat insulated with a hot water jacket 19 and arrives at a coating nozzle 20. Here, the lubricant is cooled and solidified by the cooling water from a jacket 21 and is extruded through a nozzle 24 in the solid state of a coating width W and a coating thickness H, whereby the lubricant is coated on a work roll 23. The purpose of extruding the solidified lubricant once into the extruder 2 lies in eliminating internal voides and foams when the lubricant is cooled with the nozzle 20. |
