SUPPORTING APPARATUS FOR GLASS PLATE USED IN TEMPERING OF PLATE GLASS

PURPOSE:To considerably save heating energy, to make the attachment and detachment of a glass plate easy and efficient, and to provide fine finished appearance to a product by using a specified supporting frame having many teeth arranged in an equally distributed state so as to support the glass plate to be tempered. CONSTITUTION:Narrow framing members 1 are placed parallel to one another at equal intervals to form a longitudinal frame body 2, and by connecting a lower frame body 14 composed of >=1 framing member 3 to the front of the lower end of the frame body 2 parallel to each other, a supporting frame 5 is formed. Teeth 6 having almost flat and square tips 6a are placed on the fronts of the members 1 and the upper surface of the member 3 at equal intervals so that they are arranged on the glass plate holding surface of the frame 5 in an almost equally distributed state. When plate glass is tempered, a glass plate P is mounted on the frame 5 and stably supported by many teeth 6. The plate P is conveyed in a heating furnace as it is, and the plate P is heat treated, taken out of the furnace, and rapidly cooled by spraying air from nozzles 7, 7. The cooled plate P can be detached at once from the frame 5 as a tempered product.
