PRODUCTION OF 2-AMINOMETHYLINDOLE DERIVATIVE

PURPOSE:Ammonia is made to react with a 2-halogenomethylindole derivative or 2-methyl-3-halogenoindolenine derivative in a solvent to give the titled compound directly without passing through its intermediate in high yield. CONSTITUTION:Ammonia is used to effect the reaction thereof with 2-halogenomethylindole derivative of formulaI(R1 is H, lower alkyl, cyclopropylmethyl; R2 is H, halogen; R3 is H, halogen, methoxy, nitro) or with 2-methyl-3-halogenoindolenine derivative of formula II in a solvent such as tetrahydrofuran or dioxane, thus producing a 2-aminomethylindole derivative of formula III. USE:Antibacterial, intermediate of benzodiazepin derivatives (agent acting on central nervous system).
