1488560 Nuclear power plant KERNFORSCHUNGSANLAGE JULICH GmbH 18 July 1975 [23 July 1974] 30289/75 Heading G6C Nuclear power plant having a closed working gas circuit, comprises a reactor core 5 disposed in a reactor chamber having prestressed concrete walls, an outer container 1 having a vertical inside face, a concrete container 3 whose exterior wall 2 adjoins the said inside face and which has a recess 4 which receives the said reactor chamber and a plurality of chambers 7-12 receiving a turbine 13 and generator set and other components of the working gas circuit. The turbine 13 and generator set are horizontally disposed in a central chamber 7, the other chambers 8-12 housing vertically disposed components. The reactor core 5 is disposed within a prestressed concrete pressure vessel 6. A chamber 20 disposed above the container 3 enables handling of the various components, which are dismountable from their respective chambers. Bursting discs 33 are provided between the various chambers and other compartments within the containment in order to limit pressures to predetermined values. The arrangement of the various chambers and other compartments within the containment structure, together with the components they house, are described in some detail.
