Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To increase the work efficiency and the discharge capacity of a silver-oxide battery by mixing primary silver-oxide particles and a water-soluble high molecular compound under the existence of water, making the mixture into grains, drying the grains so as to obtain granules with grain diameters of within a specified range, and pressing and molding thus obtained granules so as to make a positive electrode. CONSTITUTION:Primary silver-oxide particles with grain diameters in the range of 0.1- 10mum are mixed with a water-soluble high molecular compound such as carboxymethylcellulose under the existence of water, and the mixture is granulated with a basket-type granulator or the like. Next, thus made grains are formed with a spherical grain-formation equipment, and dried so as to make granules with a mean grain diameter of 100-300mum. Then, thus made granules are pressed and molded into a positive electrode 1. After that, the electrode 1 is inserted into a positive can 3, and a negative agent 7 is placed over the electrode 1, with a separator 4 interposed between the electrode 1 and the agent 7, thereby constituting a silver-oxide battery. By the means mentioned above, the work efficiency can be enhanced by improving the fluidity of the positive active material. In addition, the performance of the battery can be increased by increasing the discharge capacity and reducing the internal resistance of the battery.
