Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a repeatedly usable ion selection electrode with a higher response speed and a small potential drift by arranging an electrolyte layer on a conductive metal oxide and an ion selection layer thereon. CONSTITUTION:A conductive metal oxide layer 11 made of In2O3, SnO2 or the like is provided on a supporting body 19 made of a polyester film or the like and according to intended ion, for example K, an electrolyte layer 13 is formed thereon 11 by vacuum evaporation of KCl. Then, a K selection layer having polyvinyl chloride impregnated with an ion carrier such as Valinomycin is formed on the layer 13. A pair of electrode film chips thus obtained are coupled with a bridge 20 of a cotton yarn or the like and a potentiometer 51 is provided between layers 11 of both the chips. A standard liquid 41 is dropped on one chip while a liquid sample 42 on the other chip to measure an electromotive force. This provides an ion density measuring ion electrode assembly with a stably balanced potential by reducing the time to reach a balanced potential after the dropping of the sample with a trace thereof.
