PURPOSE:To always secure coincidence between the monitor print and the character code, by making the types of the typewriter pass through in front of the code identifying device immediately before printing. CONSTITUTION:The operator finds out the types corresponding to the characters to be supplied out of the type storing case, and then shifts the hammer 2 to the position of the corresponding type. Then the handle 3 is operated to pick up the type, and the type is printed onto the paper 9 on the platen 4. At that moment, the type passes through in front of the code identifying device 5, and thus the type code is read to be delivered to the computer or the like in the form of the input signal. Then the perforation is given to the paper tape punch.
