Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To heighten the accuracy of air supply pressure to a cylinder provided with a rapid drive speed control circuit and reduce a rapid-drive shock, by providing a surge tank in the control circuit and using the air pressure in the tank to drive the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:In a rapid drive speed control circuit provided for a cylinder 8 required of an instantaneous striking force, the back pressure of the cylinder is lowered as much as possible by the quick exhaust of rapid exhaust valves 6, 7 to move the rod 9 of the cylinder in and out at a high speed. A surge tank 31 is provided at a halfway part of the pipe passage 16 of the rapid drive speed control circuit. The surge tank 31 is of such a variable capacity type that the volume V os stored air can be appropriately controlled by an adjusting rod 36. The tank 31 is put into operation only when the rod 9 is protruded. The above- mentioned operations are controlled by regulating the positions of directional control valves 32, 35 in accordance with the outputs of limit sensors 10, 11.
