MANUFACTURE OF INFORMATION RECORDING MEMBER

PURPOSE:To obtain an information recording member capable of easily forming a guide groove for writing by applying a resin soln. contg. a silver compound and a photooxidizing agent to a substrate, drying it, exposing the resulting layer to ultraviolet rays through an image, and heating the exposed layer to form a silver mirror at the unexposed part. CONSTITUTION:A soln. contg. AgNO3, a silver ammine complex or the like which is soluble in water, alcohol, etc. and deposits silver by thermal decomposition, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl butyral or the like, and an org. halogen compound such as CBr4 or hexaarylbiimidazole which acts as an oxidizing agent on being irradiated with light is applied to a glass substrate 1 and dried to form a recording layer 2. A pattern 3 is brought into contact with the layer 2 and irradiated with ultraviolet rays 4. The layer 2 is then heated at a heating temp. (50-250 deg.C) depending on the kind of the used photooxidizing agent to form a silver mirror 5 at the unexposed part 2'. Thus, a reflection type information recording member which is easily provided with a focus servo and a tracking servo is easily obtd.
