STRUCTURE OF CONNECTION OF PANEL WITH BASE PLATE OF ELECTRONIC WATCH

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts for connecting a panel to a film-like circuit base plate and thereby to simplify the assembly of a watch, by a method wherein contact patterns at both edges of a liquid-crystal display panel are wrapped in the contact patterns of the circuit base plate, the latter patterns are superposed on the former, and a member of superposition thus prepared is inserted into concave parts of resin members. CONSTITUTION:Contact patterns 4 are extended on the upper surfaces at both edges of the lower panel 2 of a liquid-crystal panel 1. A circuit base plate 5 prepared by forming an electronic circuit pattern 7 on a film-like substrate 6 is arranged on the base side of the panel 1, and contact patterns 8 are extended at both edges of the base plate 5. The panel 1 is wrapped in this base plate 5, and the contact patterns 8 are superposed on the contact patterns 4 to be continuous electrically to the latter. A member of superposition thus prepared is inserted into the concaves 12 and 13 of resin members 10 and 11 and retained by bonding. Therefore, the number of parts requird for connecting the panel to the base plate is reduced and thus the assembly can be simplified.
