MANUFACTURE OF VALVE GUIDE FOR HYDRAULIC BUFFER

PURPOSE:To improve manufacturing efficiency by a method wherein a valve guide, having both functions of a guide and retainer, is made by press forming integrally as a single component. CONSTITUTION:A valve guide 21 is provided with a large diametral part 21A and a small diametral part 21C formed by bending inwardly said large diametral 21A and a part of an upper surface 21B at a plurality of places thereof while a step 21D formed by expanding the large diametral part 21A to the outside thereof is forcedly fitted into the inner wall of a tube 2. The large diametral part 21A functions as a retainer while the small diametral part 21C functions as the valve guide. A slit-like path 21E is formed between the small diamtral part 21C and the large diametral part 21A while a flange 21F pinched between the tube 2 and a bottom member 16 is provided at the lower end of the component. A hole 21G is bored at the upper surface 21B of the component.
