MANUFACTURE OF VALVE GUIDE FOR HYDRAULIC BUFFER

PURPOSE:To improve manufacturing efficiency by a method wherein a valve guide, having both functions of a guide and a retainer, is made by press forming integrally as a single component. CONSTITUTION:A valve guide 21 is consisting of a small diametral part 21A, a large diametral part 21B formed by protruding a part of the small diameteral part 21A toward the outside thereof and an upper surface 21C while a step 21D formed by expanding the small diametral part 21A to the outside thereof is forcedly fitted into the inner wall of a tube 2. According to this method, the large diametral part 21B functions as a retainer while the small diametral part 21A functions as the valve guide. A slit-like path 21E is formed between the small diametral part 21A and the large diametral part 21B while a flange 21F pinched between a tube 2 and a bottom member 16 is provided at the lower end of the component. A hole 21G is bored at an upper surface 21C of the component.
