MUSK-MIMIC CRUDE DRUG

PURPOSE:To provide a musk-mimic crude drug having the testosterone-like pharmacological effect, etc. similar to musk, by extracting the gonad, the sexual accessory glands and other accessory organs of a male animal belonging to Artiodactyla, with an organic solvent or hot water. CONSTITUTION:The gonad, the sexual accessory glands and other accessory organs of a male animal belonging to Artifodactyla, e.g. wild boar, pig, camel, deer, cattle, goat, sheep, etc. are optionally freeze dried, and extracted with hot water or an organic solvent such as acetones, alcohols, ethers, esters or benzene compounds. The extract is if necessary concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain the objective musk-mimic crude drug. Since the crude drug has chemical components similar to musk, and exhibits such an excellent pharmacological activity as to be usable as musk substitute, it is useful as a substitute for musk which is difficult to obtain.
