Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To control the height of static bed of a fluidized medium to a predetermined value, by determining the height of a bulkhead to the extent that particles of fluidized medium can jump over it, as well as to provide passing holes to the bulkheads between adjoining small chambers in the range of the height of static bed of a fluidized medium. CONSTITUTION:The height Ha of a bulkhead 10 is determined so as to be higher than the maximum height of a fluidized bed 9 at the time when the fluid medium 5 is fluidized, and to the extent that scattering particles of fluidized medium can fly over it. Besides, passing holes 11 which interconnect adjoining small chambers 1a and 1b, and 1b and 1c, respectively, are provided to bulkheads 10 which partition off a combustion chamber 1 into a plurality of small chambers 1a-1c, in the lower positions than the height of static bed of fluid medium 5. When a small chamber 1b is operated, the particles, flying over from the fluidized bed 9, fall down into the adjoining small chambers 1a and 1c which are not working at the time. On the other hand, since the density of a fluidized medium 5 in the working small chamber 1b is lower than the small chambers 1a and 1c which are at rest, the fluidized medium 5 moves to the working chamber 1b from small chambers 1a and 1c which are at rest, passing through the passing holes 11. In such a manner, the height of static bed of a fluidized medium 5 can be kept on a fixed value.
