Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prepare a novel alkalicellulase 301-A exhibiting activity in highly alkaline region, by culturing alkaliphilic bacterial strain belonging to Cellulomonas genus. CONSTITUTION:Microbial strain belonging to Cellulomonas genus and capable of producing alkalicellulase 301-A, e.g. Cellulomonas sp.No.301-A (FERM-P No. 6582) is inoculated in a medium preferably containing cellulosic materials such as ''Avicel'', filter paper, etc. as a carbon source, and cultured under aerobic condition at 27-39 deg.C and 7-10pH, preferably 8-10pH for about 2-5 days. The objective alkalicellulase can be separated from the culture liquid medium.
