Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To enhance surface charge retentivity and also sensitivity to light in a long wavelength region, by forming a charge generating layer made of Se-Bi-F alloy and on this layer a charge transfer layer made of polyvinylcarbazole or the like. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating layer 22 is made of a Se-Bi-F alloy consisting of 97 atomic% Se, 2 atomic% Bi, and 1 atomic% F. This layer 22 is formed by mixing 0.4g powder of Se-Bi alloy contg. 2.0 atomic% Bi with 0.4g BiF3 powder with well stirring in a ball mill, pulverizing, placing the obtained mixtur contg. 96.8 atomic% Se, 2.3 atomic% Bi, and 0.9 atomic% F on a quartz dish, using it as a sputtering target, sputtering it with a high-frequency sputtering device, and forming a 0.5mum thick Se-Bi-F alloy on the conductive substrate 21. This is coated with a tetrahydrofuran soln. of polyvinylcarbazole, and dried to form a charge transfer layer 23, and the present photoreceptor is thus formed.
