Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To measure the amount of intake air to an engine accurately without receiving the effects of temperature and electrical noises, by detecting the displacement of a vibrating plate, which is displaced by the pressure of vortexes by an optical means. CONSTITUTION:A vortex flowmeter 7 is provided in an intake air path 2. Said vortex flowmeter 7 is constituted by a pipe 8, which forms a part of an intake pipe 5; a straightening grating 9, which stabilizes the flow in said pipe 8; a vortex detecting mechanism 11, which is inserted in said pipe 8, transduces change in pressure of the vortex into a light signal, and outputs light pulses corresponding to the frequency of the vortex, and the like. The light signal from the vortex detecting mechanism 11 is propagated in an optical fiber 13 and transduced into an electric signal by an electric circuit 12.
