Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To improve the compression ratio against facsimile signal having multilevel gradations as dither pictures have, by encoding an altered block of the address of the starting block with a code indicating the block value and the value of run length. CONSTITUTION:A comparator 32 judges whether the absolute value of the content of a counter 22 is within , for example, ''3'' or not, and outputs ''1'' when the absolute value is within ''3'' or ''0'' when the value is outside the range. When the signal from P3 is ''1'' and that from the comparator 32 is ''1'', the gate 62 is opened and the content of the counter 22 is encoded by a vertical mode encoding circuit 42. On the other hand, a counter 21 is increased one by one from the time when an address controlling circuit 6 sets a0 and stops the countine when it receives an ''1'' signal from P11. A gate 61 is the one which is opened when the output of the comparator 32 is ''0'' or the signal of P5 from a coincidence circuit 8 is ''0''. Block values passed through the gate 61 are inputted into a horizontal mode encoding circuit 41 and encoded. |
