PURPOSE:To secure an easy-to-see display near the block fringe at the time of magnification and thus to obtain easy grasping for the situation of the block periphery by having a magnified display of not only the designated block but its periphery in case part of the pattern is displayed in magnification. CONSTITUTION:In case the operator gives a magnified display with designation of the numbers (i, j) of the block Qi and Qj closest to the region of the pattern the operator wants to magnify, the magnification ratio is set to ''4'' or ''3'' smaller than ''5'' determined by the space between scales, and the display is given so that the designated block may be the center of the display screen. In such way, both the designated block and its peripheral dot-lined area are displayed in magnification, and point P can be displayed in the easier-to-see way. Thus, in case one block is displayed in magnification through display of the pattern piled on by the scale, the periphery of the block is also put within the screen. As a result, the operator can recognize easily the peripheral situation of the block.
