CONTROL SYSTEM OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To prevent operation different from a command from a motorman's seat of the electric vehicle by enabling the starting of the control system only after making sure the field direction. CONSTITUTION:A power travelling progress command is emitted from the motorman's seat, a breaker 16 is turned ON, chopping commands are emitted to field choppers 811, 822 by a gate controller 18 for the field choppers, and minimum field currents flows. When the direction of field currents detected by a current-direction detector 9 agrees with the progress command, the control patterns of a gate controller 17 for an armature chopper and the gate controller 18 for the field choppers are raised and brought to the states of normal control. When the direction of field currents does not agree with the progress command, the breaker 16 is opened. Accordingly, accidents due to the abnormality of a field-current control means can be prevented.
