Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prevent a frothy material produced when coal is mixed with a heavy oil from rising and to enable a slurry to be prepd. in a short time, by installing a rotary diffusion blade for defoaming at a top hollow space of a tank for preparing the slurry consisting of the coal and heavy oil. CONSTITUTION:A rotary diffusion blade 16 is installed at a top hollow space of a slurry preparation tank 1. A determined amt. of heavy oil 2 is charged to the tank 1 by a pump 4 and heated to about 170-180 deg.C with agitation by an agitator 5. Then coal 8 crushed to a determined particle size by a crushed 6 is continuously supplied to the tank 1 by a rotary feeder 1. At that time, moisture of the coal 8 is vaporized by heat of the heavy oil 2, forming a frothy material 10 consisting of water vapor, the heavy oil and a coal powder, which continuously rises but defoamed by the brakage of the film thereof caused by impact due to the diffusion blade 16. Thus it is possible to continuously supply the coal and a slurry is prepd. in a short time.
