ELECTROLYTIC POLISHING DEVICE OF METALLIC WIRE OR ROD

PURPOSE:To polish a metalllic wire or rod electrolytically with high stability, by juxtaposing plural sub-chambers which are electrolytic cells in series, forming the passages for the metallic wire or rod in the partition walls of these subchambers, providing electrodes in the respective sub-chambers and connecting the electrodes in such a way that the electrodes of the adjacent sub-chambers exhibit mutually opposite polarities. CONSTITUTION:A supply spool 18 wound with a metallic wire 3 is mounted to a wire coiler 16, and the metallic wire 3 drawn out therefrom is fitted into the slits 8 provided in the partition walls 7 of repective sub-chambers 1, and is penetrated through the chambers 1. The end part thereof is fixed to a take-up spool 19. An electrolyte 9 is circulated and supplied to the chambers 1 through a distribution pipe 15 by a pump 14. When a driving device 20 is started, the wire 3 wound on the spool 18 passes through the chambers 1 and is taken up on the spool 19. During this time, the wire 3 is electrified to one polarity through the electrolyte in one sub-chamber and is electrolyzed between the same and the electrode of the polarity opposite therefrom in the next small-chamber, whereby the metallic wire is polished gradually.
