Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To form a magnetic recording medium causing no curl and undergoing no dimensional change in long-term use, by combining metallic foil of a paramagnetic body or a diamagnetic body with a plastic film and a thin filmlike ferromagnetic body. CONSTITUTION:A thin film of Co having 0.3mum thickness is continuously formed on one side of biaxially stretched polyethylene terephthalate having 15mum thickness by vapor deposition with electron beams to obtain a thin film type magnetic recording medium A. The medium A is dry laminated on metallic foil of a paramagnetic body or a diamagnetic body having 20mum thickness with the vapor-deposited surface outward by using a urethane adhesive to obtain a flat composite type magnetic recording medium causing no curl. Foil of Al, Cu, Sn, Zn, stainless steel or an alloy thereof is used as the metallic foil, and a platelike body is included. A plastic film is formed from a well-known resin by a known means, and a biaxially stretched polyester film is preferably used.
