END TAB FOR WELDING

PURPOSE:To provide excellent mechinability and to enable working of an end tab for welding to be used in butt welding of members to be welded facing each other easily so as to conform to the shape of the end part of a groove, by manufacturing said end tab by solidifying coarse grains of refractory metallic oxide with a thermosetting resin as a binder. CONSTITUTION:An end tab produced by using a refractory metallic oxide such as coarse silica sand, zircon sand, olivine sand, magnesia clinker or the like of >=125 meshes as a solid flux, adding 2-10% thermosetting resin as a binder and solidifying the mixture is used as an end tab 1 for welding to be provided in the tip part 3 of a groove in the stage of welding a flange 4 to a vertical plate 5 with a groove 2. Since the tab has excellent machinability, the tab can be machined easily in conformity with the shape of the end part of the welding groove to be applied, and the groove 2 is welded with a welding torch 7 in conformity with the part 3.
