PRODUCTION OF CYLINDER

PURPOSE:To produce a cylinder which has good adhesion to a base material in the stage of insert casting with a simple process, by putting a cylindrical core material on which a liner material having a sliding characteristic is melt-sprayed on a cylindrical columnar body for forming the cylinder, inserting the same as a core into the cylinder and removing the cylindrical columnar material and the core material. CONSTITUTION:A liner material 2 having a same sliding characteristic as a cast iron liner of ceramics or the like is melt-sprayed on a flat platelike core material 1 of iron, Al, etc. having usually about 0.2-3mm. thickness to form a melt- sprayed film of about 0.5-1.5mm.. The material 1 is worked cylindrically to form a cylindrical core material 3 in such a way that the liner material is positioned on the outer side. The material 3 is put on a cylindrical columnar body 4 for forming a cylinder, whereafter the material as a core is insert cast in a cylinder 5. The cylinder 5 is removed from the body 4 and the inside surface of the cylinder 5 is worked to cut off the material 1, whereby the cylinder 5 transferred with the material 2 on the inside surface is obtained.
