DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To shorten the executing time of an instruction without halting immediatly the data processing when a processor requires interruption to another processor, and then executing the process which can be executed by the processor before a start instruction is given again. CONSTITUTION:A data processing system includes a processor 1 and a processor 2 which has more processing functions than the processor 1 but has a lower processing speed than the processor 1. The processor 1 delivers immediately an interruption request to the processor 2 in case the processor 1 reads out an executable instruction with a given process. Then the contents corresponding to the interruption request are set to a register, and then the processor 1 is held. While the processor 2 carries out a process corresponding to the contents of the register as long as the processor is kept under a held state and after receiving an interruption and performing an interruption process.
