CONSTRUCTION OF VERTICAL GUIDE ROLL RIGHT UNDER MOLD

PURPOSE:To assure the assembling accuracy of vertical guide rolls of a continuous casting machine and to facilitate readjustment for local errors by dividing said guide rollers, forming supporting frames for the guide rollers as box type units and connecting the units vertically displaceably. CONSTITUTION:The guide rollers abutting on the four sides of an ingot 1 are divided to 2A-2D, and are mounted to respective plates 3A-3D which are connected to supporting frames 5A-5D in a frame-like box shape, whereby a unit 4A for supporting the guide rollers is formed. 2-3 Pieces of such units 4A are stacked vertically, and are adjusted of positions by using wedges 11, 15 and round keys 18. The stacked units are connected in series by means of tie rods. The generation of alignment errors during assembling and use is made difficult by such construction. Centering and local correction with each unit are easy.
