GLASS EDGE FIXING BY CAULKING FOR TIME PIECE CASE WITH GLASS EDGE

PURPOSE:To reduce the correction man-hour while preventing deformation due to a caulking by rolling a roller on a glass edge with the application of an appropriate force as used for the caulking parts of the glass edge and the body so as to caulk the entire or a part thereof. CONSTITUTION:A caulking roller 1 has a roller shaft 2, a bearing 3 for supporting the shaft and a bearing holding member 4 for holding the bearing. When caulking a glass edge 9 on a body 10, after the glass edge 9 and the body 10 are put together and set on a jig 8. It is fixed vertically with a holder 13 and an air pressure is fed into a cylinder chamber 6 with an air pressure valve or the like from an air pressure source 15 to push the caulking roller 1 to the inside surface 8a of the jig 8. Then, a projection 18 on the glass edge is caulked to fix the glass edge 9 on the body 10. This method enables the subdivision of the caulking to prevent the deformation due to the caulking thereby reducing the correction man-hour.
