PROPELLER NOZZLE OF MULTI-SHAFT VESSEL

PURPOSE:To prevent damage to a propeller in an icy region of the sea by furnishing a nozzle surrounding the propeller at the stern. CONSTITUTION:A propeller nozzle 1 baffles the streams before and after a propeller 3 as well as surrounds the propeller 3 so as to prevent damage to the propeller 3. A baffle plate 2 baffles the incoming stream to the propeller 3 as well as prevents collision of ice lumps against the propeller 3 and nozzle 1. The heel part at the tail part of shup's bottom stretching below the shaft tube 8 at the stern, so-called skeg 5 is a member to fasten the baffle plate 2 and nozzle supporting member 4 to the hull effectively, functioning also with a baffle effect. By such an arrangement any damage to the propeller likely to be caused by ice lumps can be prevented. Thus a multi-shaft working vessel is secured to work in the icy region of the sea safely and effectively.
