FILM FOR PROTECTING POLYMER SURFACE

PURPOSE:To provide the titled film suitable for use in improving weather resistance and appearance and in protecting the surfaces of polymers such as glass fiber-reinforced unsaturated polyester resin molding, by mixing a fluorocarbon polymer with a specified multi-layer structural polymer and molding the mixture into a film. CONSTITUTION:A multi-layer structural polymer consists of an innermost polymer (A) composed of an alkyl acrylate, an alkyl methacrylate and a grafting/ crosslinking agent as essential ingredients, a crosslinked elastomeric polymer (B) composed of an alkyl acrylate and a grafting/crosslinking agent as essential ingredients, an outermost polymer (C) having a glass transition temp. of at least 60 deg.C and composed of, as an essential ingredient, an alkyl methacrylate as basic structural units and optionally an intermediate layer (D) composed of, as essential ingredients, an alkyl acrylate, an alkyl meth-acrylate and a grafting/ crosslinking agent between layers B and C. 99-1pts.wt. multi-layer structural polymer and 1-99pts.wt. fluorocarbon polymer are mixed, and molded into a film to obtain the titled film.
