Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:The heptadecapeptide of formula. USE:An analgesic agent having morphinic activity stronger than morphine by a factor of several hundreds. PROCESS:The vasoactive intestinal peptide fraction obtained from the duodenum of swine is concentrated e.g. by the purification treatment such as CM-cellulose column chromatography, sephadex G25 gel filtration, etc. The active fraction is collected, salted out, and again subjected to gel filtration. The product is purified by the repeated reverse-phase high-speed liquid chromato-graphy to obtain the heptadecapeptide of formula.
