ENTERIC COATING COMPOSITION FOR SOLID PREPARATION

PURPOSE:The titled composition that is obtained by dispersing a fine powder of a coating base in an aqueous medium containing a plasticizer and a water- soluble or -dispersible macromolecular substance, thus forming coating layers on solid pharmaceutical preparations in high yield, even when operation conditions are changed. CONSTITUTION:A fine powder of an enteric coating base such as hydroxypropylmethylcellulose phthalate (preferably of less than 100 micrometer particle size on the average) is dispersed in an aqueous medium containing a plasticizer such as triethyl citrate and a water-soluble or -dispersible macromolecular substance, preferably in a concentration of 3-20wt%, preferably 5-15wt%. It is preferred to use 10-40wt% of the plasticizer and 0.5-20wt%, preferably 1-10 wt% of the macromolecular substance based on the enteric coating base.
