description PURPOSE:To prevent a hazard in an engine automatically stopped in running operation, by constituting the engine in such a manner that the engine after being started holds its rotation even if a trouble is caused in a system detecting a running condition. CONSTITUTION:When a trouble is caused in a system detecting a running speed of an automobile, a flag F1 is left as reset in no relation to the execution of an interruption control program. In consequence, also in running operation of said automobile, a CPU repeats execution of a main control program successively proceeding to steps 42, 52 and 46, and a rotary condition of an engine is forcibly held. As a result, even if a trouble is caused in a system detecting a running condition of the automobile, a hazard of the engine automatically stopped in running operation can be prevented.
