Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a paint for slate which contains, as base material, a (co) polymer with the main chain consisting of a polyvinyl type bond and a silicon group linked to a hydrolyzable group at the terminal, etc. and forms a coating film excellent in build-up and weathering resistance without the need of surface preparation. CONSTITUTION:The titled paint is prepared by adding 0.01-20pts.wt. curing catalyst (e.g. dioctyltin carboxylate, dioctyltin mercaptide) and 0-400pts.wt. solvent, to 100pts.wt. (co)polymer in which the main chain consists of a polyvinyl type bond and which has, at the terminal or in the side chain, at least one silyl group with Si linked to a hydrolyzable group in one molecule. The (co) polymer is produced by hydrosilylation of a vinyl resin having C=C double bonds with a hydrosilane, copolymerization of a vinyl compd. with a silyl compd. having polymerizable double bonds, etc.
