Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:An imidazolidin-2-one derivative shown by the formulaI R is H, 1-4C alkanoyl, (1-4C alkoxy)carbonyl; R1 is 1-6C alkyl or 3-6C cycloalkyl . EXAMPLE:4-Methylimidazolidin-2-one-1-carboxymethylamide. USE:A herbicide. Showing strong herbicidal effect on weeds such as yerba de tajo, Amaranthus viridis L., polygonum, etc., usable for producing farm products such as mandarin orange, soybean, maize, mulberry, paddy-rice plant, etc. and for destroying weeds with bad appearance. An application amount is 10-100g/a calculated as an active ingredient and the derivative is applied. PROCESS:For example, an imidazolidin-2-one derivative shown by the formula II is reacted with an isocyanate shown by the formula III in the absence of a solvent or in it in the presence of a catalyst such as preferably a tertiary amine at 70-150 deg.C for 3-5hr, to give a compound shown by the formulaI.
