Zusammenfassung:	For the purpose of accommoding an instrument e.g. cannon 10 in a protective housing 13 in a manner which prevents vibrations, a block 23 of foam material is produced by expanding a foamable composition in the protective housing 13 in the presence of the instrument 10. The instrument 10 is provided with a coating 22 which prevents the foam material from adhering to the instrument. The instrument is urged against the block 23 of foam material either by spacers 25 which are braced against a cover 19. Alternatively, second in situ informed block of foam material covers the top of the instrument 10 and matches the contour of said top.
