DRYING OF ORGANIC SOLID MATERIAL SUCH AS BROWN COAL

PURPOSE:To dry an organic solid material economically and efficiently, by classifying the organic solid material, feeding the classified bulked granules and granular or powdery matter to an autoclave and a dryer of the continuous type respectively, using steam exhausted from the dryer to preheat and to heat the bulked granules. CONSTITUTION:An organic solid material (hereinafter referred to as brown coal) such as brown coal, etc. is fed to the crusher 1, ground, fed to the first classifier 2, classified, and separated into bulked granules and granular or powdery matter. The bulked granules is sent to the autoclave 3 of the batch type being subjected to the action of high-temperature and high-pressure steam, and the granular or powdery matter is fed to the dryer 4 of the continuous type being subjected to the action of superheated steam. Hot water or saturated steam generated from the boiler 5 is sent to the autoclave 3 of the batch type, superheated steam generated from the boiler 5 is fed to the dryer 4, the saturated steam or the superheated steam near to saturation exhausted from the dryer 4 is fed to the autoclave 3 of the batch type, and used for preheating and heating the bulked granules, to dry the brown coal.
