Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To form a coating layer having high strength, high elasticity, and high hardness as well as excellent abrasion resistance and lubricity by bringing carbon fibers, graphite fibers, etc. in a laminar state into contact with the surface of a copper plate of a casting mold for continuous casting in contact with an ingot and dipping the copper plate in this state in a plating bath. CONSTITUTION:Fibers 1 for reinforcement such as carbon fibers, graphite fibers or their blended fibers are brought into contact with and are held in a laminar state on the surface 3a of a copper plate 2 of a casting mold for continuous casting in contact with an ingot. The copper plate in this state is dipped in a plating bath of Cr, Ni, etc. Metal is deposited on the surfaces of the unit fibers of the fibers 1 and the surface of the plate 2, whereby the plating metal is combined with the fibers 1; at the same time, the composite layer is joined to the surface 2a of the plate 2. A composite coating layer 3 wherein the matrix metal and the fibers 1 are combined to one body is thus formed on the surface 2a on the ingot side of the plate 2. The service life of the plate 2 is improved by such coating method. |
