VIDEO DISK PLAYER

PURPOSE:To eliminate a memory when a static picture is reproduced from a video disk that is recorded by CLV, by giving a jump to a pickup after detecting the 1st position from a reproduced signal, delivering the output of demodulation and stopping the output after the 2nd position is detected. CONSTITUTION:A video disk recorded by CLV is turned by a motor 2, and the recorded signal is reproduced through a pickup 3 and then demodulated to be delivered through an output terminal 4. When a static picture command is delivered from a static picture command means 8, the 1st position detecting means 7 detects the 1st position. Thus a tracking controller 5 generates an output, and the pickup 3 has a jump over a track in the reproduction starting direction. At the same time, an output is generated at a squelch means 9 to avoid output of a demodulated video signal to the terminal 4. Then the demodulated signal is delivered from a track when the pickup 3 has a jump. Thus the 2nd position is detected from the demodulated signal, and the squelch is released for the 2nd position detector 10. As a result, the video signal of one frame is delivered intermittently to the terminal 4.
