POLYACRYLIC ESTER ELASTOMER

PURPOSE:The titled elastomer that is made by adding 5-alkenyl-2-norbornene to a specific alkyl acrylate or alkoxy acrylate and effecting their copolymerization, thus permitting sulfur vulcanization and showing high vulcanization rate and extrusion processability. CONSTITUTION:An alkyl acrylate with an alkyl of 1-8 carbon atoms or an alkoxy acrylate with an alkoxy of 1-8 carbon atoms is used as the major component and combined with 0.5-20wt% of 5-alkenyl-2-norbornene of the formula (R1-R3 is H, 1-5C alkyl where at least one of them is alkyl) or a combination of the same with less than 10wt% of other copolymerizable sulfur-crosslinkable monomers such as dicyclopentadiene, then they are subjected to copolymerization. When cold resistance is set importance on, the combination of the alkyl acrylate with the alkoxy acrylate is preferred.
