PRINTING CONTROLLER FOR INK JET PRINTER

PURPOSE:To enable to record with stable quality not affected by variations in velocity such as a drift in a traveling system, by recording by changing the omitting ratio of ink droplets while observing the progress of traveling of a printing head. CONSTITUTION:The printing head 1 is moved relative to a medium 4 by a motor 7, and the moving position thereof is detected by a method wherein a slitted plate 8 provided with slits at a regular interval equal to the standard pitch of the characters to be printed is read by a light element 9 provided on the head 1. A pulse from a pulse generator 20 is supplied to a nozzle 11 to jet an ink in the form of droplets, and is supplied also to a printing-controlling circuit 21 and a motor-driving circuit 22. The circuit 21 so controls that a reference number of printing ink dots generated in a given reference travel distance of the head 1 and the actual number of dots are compared with each other, and ink dots are omitted from the entire ink dot group for the subsequent reference travel distance at a predetermined omitting ratio to obtain printing ink dots. Accordingly, it is enabled to record with stable quality.
