After completion of spark discharge, the contact terminal 23 comes out of contact with the rotating metal rotor 21. Therefore, it is enabled to prevent occurrence of spark discharge in the distributor and hence to reduce jamming caused by the spark ignition. At the same time, since the loss of electric energy in the distributor is reduced, mixture can be ignited in a stable manner correspondingly.
