Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To perform a surface painting treatment with perfect and high working efficiency in the stage of painting the surfaces of concrete structures with mortar or the like by detecting beforehand the degree of aging on the surfaces and removing the aged parts then applying a coating material such as mortar or the like. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of applying coating materials such as mortar on the surfaces of concrete structure, a pH indicator having a discoloring range in a >=7.2pH range or a check coating material contg. said indicator is applied on the surfaces of the concrete structures as an aging checking liq. The aged parts showing the pH smaller than the discoloring point thereof are cut away, and after the concrete surfaces are made into the state of normal strength over the entire surface, coating materials such as mortar are applied thereon. The mortar coating is accomplished thoroughly with high working efficiently without the exfoliation of the mortar by the aged parts and without over-grinding off of the sound concrete.
