PREPARATION OF SOLID COAL/OIL MIXTURE

PURPOSE:To prepare high-quality solid coal/oil mixture which does not cause separation of coal during storage, is easy to transport and produces only a small amount of ash in combustion, by cooling into solid a coal/oil mixture obtained by crushing brown coal and low grade solid oil under heating. CONSTITUTION:Mined brown coal 1 with a water content of 30-60% is blended into residue of heavy oil 2 which is soild at normal temperature and the mixt. is crushed in oil under heating 3. The process produces brown coal oil and water in brown coal 1 is removed. Spontaneous ignition is prevented, for brown coal 1 is contained in oil. A desulfurizing agent 4 may be added to prevent generation of SOx in the subsequent combustion from the residue of heavy oil 2 which has a high sulfur content. The coal/oil mixture prepared by crushing under heat 3 is then led into a cooling and forming proce 5 and is delivered 12, in solids, to consuming cities or shipping places packed in bags 11 or in bulk.
